This piece is the heart of my exhibition Under the Moon, a deeply intimate work born from memory, imagination, and meaningful inner dialogue. It is inspired by imagined conversations with Vincent van Gogh, where we reflected on the importance of being seen, valued, and recognized as artists during our lifetime. Through these silent exchanges, I found the courage to create more honestly and to share my world without fear.
The vibrant, dynamic sky evokes the magical nights of my childhood, when my father would place a chair by the pool at our family farm, and together with my mother, they would sit and gaze at the stars. Simple moments, yet profoundly rich—where time slowed down and everything felt whole. Today, in a world where city lights often dim the stars, this painting becomes an act of remembrance—a way to bring that sky back.
The central moon, textured and alive, acts as a portal into stillness and presence. Beneath it, a flourishing underwater world unfolds like a living garden, reminding us that nature is always alive and breathing, even when we forget to notice it. This piece merges sky and sea, memory and emotion, past and possibility.
More than something to be seen, this artwork is meant to be felt. It is a refuge. A journey. A gentle reminder that the most beautiful gifts in life—nature, love, connection—are free, and always within reach for those who choose to pause and look.
